Crockpot Country Ribs
Ingredients
4 pounds Pork Country Ribs
1 large onion
3 cloves garlic
1 ½ Tbsp Season Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
¾ Tbsp Garlic Powder
½ Tbsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Celery Seed
1 ½ Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
Directions
Prepare seasoning blend:
1. Combine Season Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Celery Seed, Brown Sugar, and Smoked Paprika in a small bowl and blend thoroughly.
2. Rub seasoning blend onto all sides of Country Ribs and set aside.
3. Cut onion into large chunks and distribute evenly across the bottom of the crock pot.
4. Peel and smash garlic cloves and put into crock pot.
5. Place Country Ribs evenly in crockpot on top of onions and garlic.
6. Add cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until fork tender.
Notes
If you cook with this cut of meat at all you probably already know that country ribs are not ribs at all. They are strips cut from the blade end of a pork loin close to the shoulder. They are meaty and when cooked slowly, will be so tender the meat will fall apart if you pick it up with a fork.
